What?! Its almost over :(

Seriously?! Can we do that all again!? Amazing how time flys! Here I thought that driving cross country would seem to drag on and on, however, I'm pleasantly surprised how quickly this trip as gone! I think that because we mentally prepared ourselves for days of long driving, in my head I was pretty prepared and I started planning all these things I needed to lookup/work on, as well as the normal stuff: "What do we want for lunch?", "Where is gas and where is it cheap?", "Where is the closest Starbucks?" "Oh look, that company looks cool, what do they do there?", "Jelly Bean company?!", "Dogs need a break, wheres the closest dog park?", "We need some beer/wine when we get to the hotel, what are the liquor laws in this state?". You know, the normal questions your always looking up (which actually took up 80% of my time while driving)!

Right now we are staying our last night away from Seattle in South Oregon. We have already started driving by volcanos and snow caped mountains, which is really making me feel as though we are almost in Seattle! We have 7 hours to drive tomorrow with probably a few pit stops along the way!

We had such a great time driving past Oklahoma City going west. It was amazing to drive through Sante Fe, NM and I could seriously retire around the Phoenix area. It was low 80s when we were there and it was amazing! The dryness about killed me with 3 nose bleeds but nothing a little shower facial couldn't help! The pups had a great time playing with Diego and we were so happy to see Ramy and Dalia again! What an awesome drive up through California too! So many different types of climates, and of course our personal favorite, the Norbinator (aka, Norberto, Norbier, Norbs, Norbie, Norbert)! Brewski and Kyra had a great time meeting Norbert and playing with him and his "gang". We love visiting with them and cant wait to get the pups all together again!

I have some pics I will have to post later. I hate writing lots on the ipad on phone so I use my laptop to blog however all my pics are on...you got it, the ipad and phone :(

Road Trip Begins!

Our road trip has finally begun! We are on our way from Atlanta, GA headed to Memphis, TN. So far it's been a success! We started out staying with our friends Chris and Kristi in Maryland last weekend, followed by a great stay at the B&B in Ridge, MD while Paul finished up his last week at work. A quick stop in VA to see family and watch Alea play a couple tourneys in volleyball, and lastly a stop in Loganville, GA to see Aunt Melissa, Uncle Jeff, Kurt and Ethan. Wish we could have stayed longer in GA! It was so great to see them all and it was very difficult to finally leave to head to Memphis. Dogs are doing great too! We have tried to stop at a couple of dog parks to help burn some energy that builds up as they sleep most of the drive in the back of the highlander.

The final pic is of our beautiful drive through the VA mountains!

I wanted to update everyone with our route/plans for the next couple of days! We finally got all our things packed up and moved out of our house officially this past Thursday. I was thrilled they packed our things and we got out of the house all in one day! Since Thursday, we have been staying with our dear friends Chris and Kristi in MD and will be staying with them until Monday morning. At that point, we will check in to the cutest B&B here in southern Maryland, Woodlawn Farm also known as Slack Winery. Im usually not impressed with east coast wines but this is one winery we have found that is great and the owners and family are so sweet!! Cant get better than a cute B&B and some great wine! A great way to say farewell to southern Maryland!!

So, heres our itinerary.
Thursday-Sunday(3/14-3/17): Chris and Kristi's house, Mechanicsville, MD
Monday-Thursday (3/18-3/21): Woodlawn Farm, Ridge, MD
Friday-Sunday (3/22-3/24): Visiting parents, Winchester, VA
Monday (3/25): Marco Family, Loganville, GA

Wednesday (3/27): Oklahoma City, OK
Thursday (3/28): Santa Fe, NM
Friday-Saturday (3/29-3/30): Ramy and Dalia, Phoenix, AZ
Sunday (3/31): Las Vegas, NV

Paul officially start his first day on Friday April 5.

I plan to document our stay-even though as I type that I realize that there are no pictures I took so far. That kinda stinks-well from here on out-I'll do my best. I hope there aren't too many references of broken promises on this blog...I really want to document this trip so hopefully I can start now!

Upcoming Travels

So with all this crappy weather I thought I would give my blog a makeover and actually write on my blog!! I know its been awhile but I hope that in the next little while, I can get much better at blogging. While most of you know, Paul and I are being relocated back to Seattle! YAY! Although I am very much looking forward to a trek across country with our pups for 10 days and getting settled into one of my favorite places, its very bittersweet to be leaving our families here on the east coast. It honestly has been soo great to be here the past two years. We were here for some family tragedies that would have been hard to deal with living in Seattle, but we have also been able to plan our wedding being close to family and spend a lot of quality time with them!

Once I have confirmed some travel plans with Paul, I will post our itinerary of our travels here on the blog and as we travel from city to city I will post a summary and some pics at each stop! I'm really looking forward to seeing friends along the route and enjoying some great foods in the cities we stop at, but most of all, I'm really looking forward to some quality time with the hubs! Its been awhile since we have done a road trip that lasted a couple of days with the undivided attention of Paul! We easily fall into routine when we are at home living the everyday life so I really cherish when events such as this throws our schedule out of whack and we have to adjust (obviously I like when these events are positive in some way).
